About Climate Change

The biggest threat

Climate change is the biggest threat to nature and humanity in the 21st century.

Climate change is everywhere

Today we start seeing impacts of climate change appearing in many places around the globe - be it melting glaciers, rising sea levels, stronger storms, higher floods, less snow in the north and more drought in the south.

While individual events cannot be proof of a serious climate change, the multiple events, the observations in nature, the observations by people living close to nature tell the tale.

Observations in nature

WWF is working in almost 100 countries, and everywhere we work with people who are close to nature. By asking them about the changes they see we are putting together a global map of Climate Witnesses which describe the creeping changes.

The World needs to keep below an average global temperature rise of 2°C in order to prevent the worst impacts of global warming.
